For The Love of Sports

Jackson is a little bit of a sports nut.  Loretta says: “I think little bit is a little bit of an understatement!”

He takes his sports pretty seriously, and he has a tendency to get pretty animated. Funny thing is, Loretta is actually a national level champion in cheerleading. You would think that she was the best equipped of the pair to cheer on any team, but when the Canadiens or the Blue Jays are playing, Jackson often puts Loretta to shame.

As a couple, we’ve attended many sporting events together. However, it seems as though every time we make the effort to go and see a game, for some reason, the good guys usually lose – badly.

For example, one Christmas, Loretta gave Jackson the best present ever – tickets to see the Montreal Canadiens in Montreal! We drove for 8 hours for them to lose the game basically within the opening four minutes. They lost 6-2. But you’d better believe that for the two goals that they did score, Jackson went off as if they had just scored the Stanley Cup winning goal.

An even better example of Jackson’s sports fanaticism was at a Toronto Blue Jays game. We had great seats in left field above the bullpen – right where Jose Bautista likes to send his dingers. They lost 11-1. But for that one run that they did get, Jackson was losing it – even though it was pretty clear that they wouldn’t win the game. Take a look at Jackson jumping up and down in the picture below as Loretta and mostly everyone else in the area has given up all hope of them making a comeback.
