Thank You

Hello friends,

The time has finally come for the second phase of the wedding threesome contest to come to a close.

We’re not going to lie — at the end of phase I, when we heard that we had to keep up a blog for three weeks during the middle of final exams and final projects, we were less than thrilled about the idea. These three weeks have really been some of the busiest of our lives. However, despite our crazy schedules — we prevailed. And since a majority of these posts were written by both of us, together — the task actually served to strengthen our bond as a couple. During some of those crazy, busy days, it was almost therapeutic to actually sit down together for an hour or two and write stories and laugh about times when it wasn’t so crazy.

Naturally, we got by with a little help from our friends, too. On some of those days when we just couldn’t find an hour to come up with bloggy genius together, some really amazing people were there to bail us out. Brian, Tawn, Miles, Jeff — we really appreciate your special guest contributions – you have no idea how huge they actually were for us.

We would also like to thank all of you who have devoted a bit of your time each day to coming and reading the blog. We can’t even believe the amount of views we’ve gotten in just three weeks – and from all over the world, too!

The winning couples from phase II will be announced here http://www.weddinggirl.ca/ on Monday, April 16th. Three out of the four couples will be moving on to phase III, but we don’t yet know what phase III has in store for (hopefully) us.

We sincerely hope that we don’t have to harass you all again — but if we do, we’re certain that you will have our backs! Your support throughout this whole competition has been unparalleled and we appreciate everything that all of you have done for us.

Writing this blog has definitely been a lot of fun. It has given us the opportunity to reflect on a lot of the fun things that we’ve done during our time together; It’s given us the opportunity to express some of our ideas and visions about our wedding day; And — of course — it’s given us the opportunity to share all of these experiences with you all.

We will leave you now with ten reasons why we think that we should move on to phase III:

  1. We are two amazing people who really deserve a break
  2. We have the best and most supportive friends and family!
  3. Our blog has been awesome (it’s been cute, touching, funny, sweet, romantic…)
  4. The announcement is the day after Jackson’s birthday — and moving to phase III would be a sweet present (‘that plus beer,’ says Jackson)
  5. Loretta’s computer died yesterday so now we have to pay for that, too
  6. Loretta’s high school cheerleading team gets a pizza party if we win
  7. Jackson’s friends each get one beer if we win
  8. We have a really cute puppy
  9. We have been paying for school for a combined 13 years – with 5 more years to go!
  10. We really want to be able to afford the wedding of our dreams

If you all can think of any other reasons as to why we should win – show us some love and post it as a reply! Let’s give Jay from Captivate Bridal, Rick from Rick Denham Photography and Mary from a little help in selecting this year’s Wedding Threesome Contest winners 😉

  1. You guys should def. win because you are both so caring and giving. Who else would give up 6 hours of your own time to volunteer at a highschool coaching a cheer team for 10 months a year. We love you and we all think you should win!!! xoxoxo

  2. You are a creative, hardworking, enthusiastic couple who deserve to have a beautiful wedding to show how much you love each other! (And I wouldn’t mind getting in on the pizza party!) xo

  3. I’ve known Loretta since my high school cheerleading days and our relationship has changed from coach to friend. I know how hard Loretta works in every aspect of her life and I know Jackson is the same. They are fantastic individuals and are an even better team together- Loretta and Jackson deserve not only to win this contest but every single happiness for years and years to come 🙂

  4. I definetly think that you should win, not because I know and have come to adore Jackson (Tom – sorry trying to get used to calling you Jackson! …….and Loretta through everyone’s wonderful blogs – which were awsome by the way,) but because as a health care professional, I know how important you two are in the lives of the people that I care for on a daily basis! We are truly a team and we couldn’t do it without you. I know from first hand experience how much we nurses rely on you and how it can save lives. I can’t even fully describe to you the impact that you have. Without speech pathologists, many of our patients would never fully embrace life again through speech with their family or loved ones (how awful would it be to be to never say I love you out loud again!) or even swallow to live another day. What may seem obvious to all of us in our every day life, is an insurmountable obstacle in the life of another person. These two people have dedicated their lives to helping children live without the ridcule of life long speech impediments and senoir adults adjust with dealing with swallowing deficits and live longer. They have even broken the ground of extending the life of stroke and brain injured patients by new and innvoative methods to take in food and to communciate with their loved ones. To them both I say “congratuations”, not just on your marriage, but on being part of an incredible health team to help our prepare and educate and treat all future generations to be all that they can be. Come on, how can you not vote for them, they are the future we hoped for and we lay it in their hands! They are truly an inspitational couple!!!…..Plus they are pretty fun……don’t you think!!!!

  5. Sorry, I seem to be definelly challenged with technology, I had thought that I had pushed the right button, but no! Sorry everyone, didn’t mean the last post to be anonymous, it was from me! My thoughts are my own and wouldn’t want to put them on anyone else and take any liberties!

  6. Loretta and Jackson may be, ahem, financially challenged at the moment, but they will and currently do, use their education to help others live better lives! They are sweet, generous and genuine people who deserve the wedding of their dreams 🙂

  7. You have to win! You both have the most awesome Mom’s in the world who have done an excellent job of raising a couple of great kids on their own (and with a little help from thier friends!). There isn’t a more deserving couple in the world.

  8. You guys definately deserve to win! Your blogs are laugh out loud funny, sweet, entertaining, unique and incredible. Couldn’t be happier for you two 🙂
